New Plans for the New Year

Featured in The Dublin InQuirer, Patrick Byrne discusses the upcoming plans for Ballsbridge Living. Patrick Byrne has lived in Ballsbridge for over 28 years and is very passionate about the community. Patrick is the forth-generation pharmacist in his family taking over Life pharmacy in the heart of Ballsbridge.

Patrick helped set up the Ballsbridge Living initiative a few years ago, with the help of others in the local community. Since more home-owners have started to move into the area, residents will start to see more local events take place over the course of the New Year.

“We lack a kind of community focus in the area, and that’s one of the things we’re trying to do,” Patrick Byrne says

In the New Year more events will take place, from a new Tidy Towns group, to open-air comedy nights, storytelling nights in local pubs, and a Fourth of July party, to recognise the area’s American connections through the nearby embassy.

In spring, Ballsbridge Living will host comedy nights in Herbert Park. The idea was inspired by comedy nights in Washington Square Park in New York, where Byrne spent some time in the 1980s. “That kind of vibe should exist in this area,” he says.
