BallsbridgeLiving Intiative - Progress Report 2018/19

The Beginning

Ballsbridge Living was launched to the local businesses in the area at the Merrion Cricket Club on November 7th, 2018. This local initiative, led by Patrick Byrne, is to showcase all that is great about Ballsbridge.

Patrick has been a community pharmacist in Ballsbridge since 1991 and is the owner/manager of Life Pharmacy Ballsbridge. In addition, as Chairman of the Anglesea Road Residents Association he has lobbied tirelessly to bring about the Dodder Flood relief works, which are now nearing completion. Patrick is extremely passionate about the redevelopment of Ballsbridge for the benefit of all its residents, office workers and the local business community.

Whilst giving a speech on the night of the launch to the local business owners introducing the Ballsbridge Living initiative and detailing the future for Ballsbridge Living, Patrick commented on how:

“It is important to us that this initiative benefits the businesses of Ballsbridge, but it also must benefit the residents and create a positive impact.”

Ballsbridge Living is solely to promote Ballsbridge as a community, in which we want to highlight the area as the premier destination to live, work, visit, socialize and stay.

Brand Ballsbridge

Ballsbridge Living is designed to promote Ballsbridge as a welcoming place to call home and an interesting and engaging place to visit.

The purpose of the initiative was to shine a light upon the area with the aim to demonstrate the best of Ballsbridge and to generate a greater interest in the neighbourhood. This then enabled the brand to flourish into what is now, Ballsbridge Living.

The Ballsbridge Living website encapsulates all that is great about Ballsbridge. It’s the go-to place for all goings-on in our bustling village, from the top places to eat and important happenings to the latest news and upcoming events. Our focus is to highlight it as a standout place to live, work and visit, which is all at your fingertips on the ballsbridgeliving.ie.

In the short time since it was established, the Ballsbridge Living Tidy Towns committee has already received many high-profile awards for their work. The outstanding project was named ‘Best New Entry’ in the 2019 City Neighbourhoods Awards, as well as an impressive 15 Special Merit Awards for their Clean-Up Day, Dwellings, and special mentions in the Shop Front Category for Roly’s, Bridge Jewellers, The Bridge 1859, Trim, French Paradox, Life Pharmacy, Insomnia, Mary Macs, Paddy Cullens, Base Wood Fired Pizza and the Horse Show House.

All of this couldn't have been possible without Patrick Byrne, who took the lead in the Tidy Towns project, as well as our fantastic volunteers, who dedicated their spare time and had a helping hand in making Ballsbridge the very best it can be. After such an amazing start, Ballsbridge Living Tidy Towns can only go onwards and upwards!
